Munich
In 1913 Hitler arrived in Munich as an artist. Shortly after, he joined the German army fighting on the Western Front. Returning to Munich he joined a small political party which developed into the Nazi party. In Munich Hitler turned from artist to soldier and finally into a politician before becoming the dictator of Germany. These vital events are core to the understanding of the Third Reich and the origins of the Second World War. When US troops captured Munich in 1945, General Dwight Eisenhower congratulated his soldiers on the defeat of the 'cradle of the Nazi Beast'. The book comes with a map, photos and profiles of the historical sites and walk suggestions. It is illustrated with many rare archive pictures.
